Thanks Jessica. There is heavy lifting of documents and a nearly full time job of checking Cadiz statements, few of which have substance or merit. The Times and LAO do a great job catching Brackpool bobbing and weaving through corridors of high office -- back from Iceland where he summered with the Mayor, this latest absurdity of the governor putting him on the horse racing board. But there are several things that absolutely require digging and a big one dates back to Governor Schwarzenegger's June 5 endorsement: How did Cadiz get it? Did the Governor privately avail himself to Brackpool in a way that led to insider trading and big profits for Cadiz directors? Then on the bigger questions about who are their potential customers for the water they intend to take out of a fragile desert ecosystem -- they haven't felt compelled to reveal that. Add to that who, who will pay? Who will monitor? Those are unanswerable questions because in essence the Cadiz project is only in motion politically and on the stock market. It's unfit for daylight in the form of a draft EIR.

Emily, thank you for staying on top of this, and sifting through what must be hundreds of pages of documents. I saw LA Observed's comments today that the Gov has endorsed this project. Very disturbing.
